Apple & Cinnamon Simmer

This Apple & Cinnamon Simmer is a naturally fragrant way to fill your living rooms, hallways or kitchen with seasonal comfort without lighting candles or plug-in air fresheners. It’s a simple, budget-friendly and wonderfully wholesome little project that makes your home feel extra inviting.

Ingredients
  • 3 Red Apples
  • 3–4 Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks
  • 8–10 Star Anise
  • 1 tbsp Whole Cloves
  • ½ tsp Ground Cardamom
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Water (enough to fill about ¾ of your pan)

Preparatation Instructions

  1. Slice the Apples: Cut each apple in half (top to bottom) and pop them straight into a medium saucepan. 
  2. Add the Spices: Toss in the cinnamon sticks, star anise and whole cloves
  3. Splash in Vanilla: A teaspoon of vanilla extract adds a lovely warm sweetness. 
  4. Add Water: Pour in enough water to fill the pot about three-quarters full. 
  5. Simmer Gently: Put the pot on the hob over the lowest heat and let it simmer gently. Top up with a splash more water as it cooks down so nothing burns.
